My Experience
I bring extensive experience as a clinician which informs my perspective as an advocate, consultant, and speaker. Â
My commitment: effective services for equitable care.
I received my PhD in Clinical Psychology from Loma Linda University. My pediatric rehabilitation fellowship was at the University of Maryland Medical System within Johns Hopkins. Â
I was the first Black woman promoted to Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine.Â
I have a career commitment to social justice and equitable health care. I served as chair of the Diversity and Equity Committee at Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City from 2010-2023. Â
My work with clients and families of many years informs my work with legislative advocacy in states and the US Congress. I currently serve as Chair of the Legislative Affairs Committee of Missouri Psychological Association.
My clinical services are available to self-pay clients in 42 American states using telehealth. I also see clients in-person at an interdisciplinary weight management clinic in the Kansas City area.
As a Certified Yoga Teacher, I incorporate mindfulness and yoga-informed approaches to help my clients achieve their wellness goals.
